The first step in troubleshooting a printer USB setup is to check for its compatibility with the currently installed Operating System. Further, the printer USB cable connection should not certainly exceed 3 meter distance since the noise interferences are high. Also make sure that the Input paper tray is fully stacked with print media. In the least of circumstances the USB Setup issue may be due to depleted Ink Cartridges installed in your HP Printer.

  • Click the desktop start menu button and then select Control Panel to open it
  • Double Click the Add Remove programs folder to get a list of programs that is already installed to your Operating System
  • Select the HP Printer and then click Uninstall button to erase off it from the Operating System
  • Now perform a computer reboot operation. Unplug the printer USB cable from the printer end and then re-plug it back to the printer

  • Wait for approximately 60 seconds to get over. During this time try to check the power cables for any kind of damage presence. If the cable is damaged or worn out then at once replace it with a new power cable
  • Connect the printer power cord to the source available at the wall outlet
